Discount-Based Campaigns: Drive Sales with Attractive Discounts!

Understanding Discount-Based Campaigns

A discount campaign offers members a reduction in the price of products or services for a limited time and under certain conditions. These campaigns are effective for driving immediate sales, attracting price-sensitive members, and clearing excess inventory. Discount-based loyalty programs allow members to receive immediate benefits in the form of reduced prices at the time of purchase. Examples include buy-one-get-one-free offers, percentage discounts (e.g., 20% off), seasonal discounts, and clearance discounts. These campaigns encourage specific behaviors, like pairing coffee purchases with discounted chocolates to increase basket size.

Once you select the “Discount Campaign” option, four fields will be displayed on the opening page: Discount Campaign, Earning Type, Eligible Products, and Eligible Members.

You can always go back to the campaign home page by clicking on the Campaign List button located in the top left-hand corner.

To create a discount-based campaign, follow these steps:

1. Enter Discount Campaign Info

Enter your campaign's title, start date, end date, and hours. You can always extend the end date of your campaign later.

2. Select Earning Type

The following earning-type options will be presented. Please select the option that best suits your campaign objective.

Examples (*The amount/quantity values used in this section are just examples. You can adapt this example to your requirements.)

Amount Off - % Off
Offer members a discount as either a fixed dollar amount or a percentage within the specified time range.

Shop for $300 and get $30 off

Shop for $200 and get 15% off

10% off on the whole cart.

Get $50 fixed cart discount

Fix Price Per Unit
Members receive a fixed USD price per unit for selected products within a specified quantity range.

Buy a minimum 3 to a maximum 5 of the selected product(s) / service(s) at $10 each.

Bundle Set Discount
Allow members to purchase a set quantity of selected products for a fixed price

Buy 3 products for a total of $30 (*this can apply to the same product or different product combinations, based on your preference).

Bulk / Tiered Discount
Members who buy a quantity of selected products receive a percentage or fixed dollar discount.

Buy 6 items, get 5% off or $10 off.

Buy X Get X
Members who purchase a set quantity of the same products within a specified minimum - maximum quantity range (e.g., buy 3 to 6 products) will receive a discount on a portion of those items, either by a percentage or a fixed dollar amount.

Buy 4 products of X (within the specified range of 3 to 6), get 2 of those X products at a 50% discount or $10 off each.

Buy X Get Y (Amount)
Members who spend a specified amount on the same products or services you define will receive a discount on another product you select. The discount can be either a percentage or a fixed dollar amount.

Spend $50 to $100 on product X, and get a discount on product Y.

Buy X Get Y (Quantity)
Members who spend a specified quantity on the same products or services will receive a discount on another product. The discount can be either a percentage or a fixed dollar amount.

Buys 5 of X products (spending a specified quantity on the same products), get a $5 discount or 20% off on a Y product.

You can customize your campaign earnings by setting minimum and maximum spending limits.

First, choose between a fixed amount or a percentage for the type of reward. Then, enter the desired value in the “Value” field. Once you have entered the necessary information, click on the “Add” button to determine the reward you would like to give to your members. If you have already customized your campaign earnings and need to delete the existing rule set, simply click on the “Delete” button.

-Most Rewarding Campaign: This function allows you to set the dominant rule for your active discount campaigns. By choosing the "Most Rewarding Campaign" option, you ensure that while this discount-based campaign is active, other campaigns of the same type (other discount-based campaigns) will be temporarily paused. Once the "Most Rewarding Campaign" has expired, the paused campaigns will resume. For example, if you have multiple discount-based campaigns running, selecting the "Most Rewarding Campaign" will pause the others, making this one the only active discount-based campaign.

This is ideal for high-impact promotions like seasonal sales or major events. You can use this function where you want to have a campaign for a temporary period like Black Friday, Easter, etc.  

Note!

When you create a new campaign and enable the Most Rewarding Campaign feature, it will automatically override any previous campaigns that were set as "Most Rewarding." Each time you select this feature for a new campaign, that campaign becomes the active rule, ensuring your customers always receive the most current and rewarding offer.

3. Add Your Eligible Products

From this field, you can choose which products to include or exclude in the campaign.

Two options are provided to help you easily specify your products, as explained below:

-All products: Includes all products available in your inventory without any exclusions. Select the “All Products” option from the campaign product field.

-Select your product(s): Allows you to manually choose specific products from your inventory to include in the campaign. Once you choose the “Select your products” option add your products by selecting the Check box located on the left-hand of the product row from the product list that will be presented with the “Product Code”, “Product Name” and “Product Category” details.

  • Select: Select your products from your inventory by selecting the check box on the left-hand side of each product row.

  • Filter: Use the “Filter” button to find your products from your inventory by their product codes, names, or categories.

  • Display: View your products presented as a list and remove or add products according to your need. Selected products will be listed with the following titles:

    • Product Code: A unique identifier assigned to a specific product.

    • Product Name: The name or title given to a specific product to differentiate it distinctly from other products.

    • Product Category: A classification or grouping that organizes products based on shared characteristics, such as type, function, or purpose.

4. Add Your Eligible Members

Here, you can define the target member base according to your objectives/goals for that specific campaign. There are two different options to define your members in your campaign such as “All Members”, and “VIP Tier”,

-All Members: You can choose to send the campaign to all your members.

-VIP Tier: Specify your members by their VIP tier. Add tiers by clicking the “Add” button located at the bottom right-hand corner of each tier row presented.

Required fields are indicated with a “* sign.

After you have filled out all the fields, click on the “Create Campaign” button located at the right-hand side of the page. Once your campaign is created, you'll be automatically redirected to the campaign list, where your newly created campaign will appear at the top as a draft. Take a moment to review and fine-tune the campaign details as needed. When you're satisfied with the setup, simply activate the campaign by selecting "Activate" from the action column.
